Our tummy makes alarm, time to lunch. We find one restaurant. This restaurant have variety menu. Such as chicken grill, duck, catfish, vegetable with drink coffee, tea, mega mendung, and beras kencur. The foods make our tummy snooze for a while, yippy…..

Next is candi Jago, hm….. What’s that? There is Roaster? Because “JAGO” it means Roaster….

We arrive in Candi Jago with drizzle condition. The area has a shape like a triangle and surrounded by fences. The size around 50 x 100 meters, but the Candi is wide and there 3 levels. Oh…the other thing every side (north, south, east and west) has a relief.

Shaifuru and Rizky entrance first. We follow them. Mr Trijaka as usually stay in the guard house and chit chat with guard. How about us? Taking picture and explore the candi hehehehe…..

Drizzle condition

We go around candi. No roaster statue, but there’s chicken live. We saw relief lotus from stone and goddess with 8 hands. We think this candi has genre Buddha but it can be Hindhu. This is question mark for us.

We up to Candi goes to second level. We saw scenery goes to South Malang. Me, Shaifuru and Rizky continue to the top, 3^rd level. We must be careful climb the stairs. Finally we touchdown but of course alternately, because the space not enough for 3 peoples. From the top, you can see the horizon.

Before we go back, the guard told me, “JAGO from Javanese word JAJAGHU that means Majesty or Greatness. No related with Roaster although there chicken’s or roaster live near Candi. This Candi typical Buddha and build for King of Singosari, Wisnuwardhana. Based on History, Wisnuwardhana has belief Syiwa Buddha. Syiwa Buddha showing with Relief, Statue Hindhu and Buddha. For Candi with genre Hindhu has similiar with Candi Jago, located on Blitar. Nice information.

We just 20-30 minutes in Candi Jago and Continue to Candi Kidal. Kidal it means left hand. Hm....?? so interesting. Why call Kidal?

We go to candi Kidal with the secret road. We saw activites daily on village. Of course we saw field rice and we saw javanese wedding style on village.

We arrive at Candi Kidal. The entrance so small and as usually there is guard house. Mr Trijaka open the conversation with the guard. The park very beautiful and very well maintains. We follow the path and suddenly got attack bad smile. We think beside park, its livestock. But bad smile is gone when we close with candi Kidal.

Candi Kidal its look like Candi Singosari. We can climb on Candi Kidal. But thinner and we can’t surround Candi Kidal on second level like in Candi Singosari. Hm…. We saw relief but not much like in Candi Jago. So…here Candi Kidal.

Candi Kidal is Cemetery King of Singosari Empire, Anusapati. Kidal name was taken from two reasons. First Anusapati is child from Tunggul Ametung and Kendedes. Ken Arok ask somebody to kill Tunggul Ametung. After that, Ken Arok married with Kendedes. Ken Arok has been King of Singosari. That’s why, Anusapati is stepchild from Ken Arok and Kendedes. The second reason is believe from Anusapati, SAIWA not common SAIWA at that time.

The unique is relief Garudeya and must see with opponents clockwise. We saw 3 reliefs Garudeya with different style. From left side Garudeya below dragon snake, second on back side is Garudeya bring Holy water, third on right side Garudeya bring women. This relief has meaning and have story.

Of course we never forget taking picture. We love it.

We must catch up Candi Badut on West Malang. So, we won’t wasting time go ahead to Candi Badut. The driver, Marshell try to fast but of course with save number one. He takes secret road once more time. From Candi Kidal went to Candi Badut around 40-50 minutes. We hope Candi Badut still open.

We arrive at candi Badut and the result is CLOSE. So, we cant entrance Candi Badut. So Bad….

Well, we try to positive thinking. We can see Candi Badut from outside fence, at least we can see the Candi Badut.

Candi Badut has cube shape. There is no top (STUPA or Ratna) like other candi. There’s small room and there statue inside. Should be every side has small room and statue inside but only one side theres statue. The rest is gone and could be in Leiden University or in Jakarta.

Candi Badut is the oldest Candi in Malang around 760 Century, probably in east Java. Shaifuru said to Rizky, “we never know Candi Badut. This is the first for us (Shaifuru and Rizky).” Rizky reply, “Well may be, the location deep inside aisle and people can’t see clearly. That’s why, we never know.”

Well that our journey from 5 Candi in one day. Near candi, I know fruit seller and I buy several fruits. My friends follow me to buy some fruits. We go back and this journey makes us more know about our heritage and history. It is great day with leisure time for us.
